Summary/Abstract: In the literature on interorganizational networks, trust is mostly considered to be a constitutive feature of network relations. In fact, there are a lot of indications of trust in interorganizational networks. Despite the widespread agreement on the importance of trust in interorganizational relationships, there appears to be a lack of consensus on a suitable conceptualization of trust. Trust has been conceptualized and operationalized in a number of different ways and a variety of dimensions. The key objectives of this paper are to provide conceptual justification of trust in tree dimensions: cognitional, affectional (emotional), behavioral and to demonstrate subtle differentiation between trust, which is related more to “dependability” and credibility, which is more connected to the idea of “believability”.
