Summary/Abstract: Cristina Kirchner served as president of Argentina for two terms (2007-2011, 2011-2015). The purpose of thisarticle is to identify the argumentative resources that she uses most in her inaugural addresses.Cristina Kirchner uses various fallacies, metaphors, personifications andantitheses whichincrease the persuasive power of her speeches. As an argumentative strategy, she uses comparisons so as to place different concepts on the same level and rhetorical questions in orderto focus the attention of the audience on what she is about to say.
