Summary/Abstract: The following essay presents Anton Golopentia's major studies, conceived as the starting-point for the sociological monograph of Cornova, a repressentative North Bessarabian village, which was observed at a transitional moment: in the 1930s, when it acquired urban features and left behind the traditional forms of social and economic organization. Being the first field experience for the young sociologist, Cornova becomes the paradigmatic example for the special (affectionate) relation established between the researcher and his object. The study also offers Anton Golopentia's biography and a sellected bibliography of the author.
