Summary/Abstract: This article describes the results of a questionnaire given to 23 foreign students learning Romanian language in the preparatory year at the University of Bucharest during the 2017-2018 academic year. The subjects originate from China, South Korea, Syria, Palestine, Iraq, Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia, Iran, Armenia, Albania, Bulgaria and Greece. Given this linguistic and cultural diversity, we have aimed at identifying some difficulties of Romanian language by comparing it both to the respondents’ mother tongues and to the other languages they speak.
