Summary/Abstract: Members of the Scientific Centre of Excellence for Croatian Glagolitism have taken an interdisciplinary approach to the study of four Croatian Glagolitic codices created in Beram in the 14th and 15th centuries which are stored at the National and University Library of Slovenia in Ljubljana. In this text, we compare, taking into the account the (un)reliability of old texts as dialectal samplers, the traits that differ from the Croatian Church Slavonic traits and that appear on the first twenty pages of the Temporal of the Second Beram (Ljubljana) Breviary with the results of research of the contemporary dialect of Beram. The methodology applied is that of diachronic, i.e. historical dialectology. The aim is to try to determine if there are any similarities to the traits of the group of dialects that the dialect of Beram belongs to, either those common to other Chakavian dialects, or specific to the group of dialects the dialect of Beram belongs to. This would contribute to more conclusive findings on whether this breviary was only used in Beram or whether it was also written, and to what extent, so that it would reflect the traits of the group of dialects the dialect of Beram belongs to.
