Summary/Abstract: From the beginning in the Christian Church, short definitions of Christian faith were circulated, leaving or having the pattern of the Trinitarian and Christological confessions of the New Testament. These simple testimonies have evolved, knowing an amplification in the early Church, from short testimonies of Christian martyrs, and the formulas of faith against heresies, to the baptism of symbols spoken by who are baptized. Thus, we can speak of a dogmatic development of the Creed, which had to correspond to the missionary, liturgical and catechetical needs of the Church.
