A review of judicial decisions by the European Court of Human Rights in medical matters issued against Poland in 2018

Summary/Abstract: The European Court of Human Rights was established in 1959 for the purpose of examiningindividual complaints and international cases. The ECtHR ascertains the infringement of rightsand freedoms on the basis of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and FundamentalFreedoms. The Convention provides uniform principles and standards in the field ofhuman rights while ECtHR judgments may introduce amendments in legislature and in practice.The paper presents selected verdicts issued by the ECtHR against Poland in 2018 in the casesinvolving medical issues.
