Summary/Abstract: Our work aims to highlight a several dichotomies in the semiotics of the royal procession, on the basis of comparative analysis of some passages of Dimitrie Cantemir and Voltaire, both living in the 18th century. Our premises are related to identifying the context of generating illuminist ideas, the author positions and the role of semantic network related to the display of the royal procession, in the antinomy circumstances - peace and war - well as the analysis of semiotics of significant passages. Dichotomy series identified by us emphasize, at the ethno-and socio-linguistic level, contradictory aspects of segmentation and various reifications of the Enlightenment in which lived the two sagacious critics, Dimitrie Cantemir and Voltaire.
