Jesus and His Earthly Family

Summary/Abstract: In this paper we have proposed to present those passages from the New Testament which throws light upon the relation between Jesus and his earthly family. As a result of the exegesis we could state that the historical Jesus had grown up in a pious and traditional Jewish family, whose members probably did not join the circle of disciples before his resurrection. Their doubts concerning Jesus’ messianic identity came to light at every step. After the resurrection, probably as the result of Jesus’ appearance to James –known from Paul’s 1st Letter to the Corinthians – the members of the whole family joined the first Christian Church.
