Summary/Abstract: On 15th September 2016 the apostolic letter issued as motu proprio of Pope Francis was published. Preferred motives for such acting were the migratory crises in Europe, when on several places settled not long ago by Latin Catholics only, many members of Eastern Catholic, as well as non-Catholic Churches immigrated. On that account the unification of legal regulations of Latin canon law with Eastern canon law was prepared, especially in the area of matrimonial law. The whole conception of new legal regulations follows the endeavour to meet not only Eastern, but also Western Christians emanating from protestant reformation, for the purpose of improvement better mutual relationships and cooperation of all believers in given region, what will be useful not only for pastoral, but also missionary efforts of the Catholic Church. The article offers relevant interpretations of this source of law based on Slovak translation performed by the author as classical philologist and canonist simultaneously.
