The Monetary Policy of the European Economic Community

Summary/Abstract: The author analyzes the monetary policy of the European Economic Community with a special regard to the creation of a European monetary system. This system has been formed with the purpose of securing currency stability within the economic space of the joining countries as well as of contributing to the integrating processes in the European Economic Community, from the account of the basic constituent parts of this system it is clear that it largely follows the practices of the International Monetary Fund, namely that economic regionalization is followed by monetary regionalization. Political agreement between number countries is a precondition for the implementation of this project.
