Summary/Abstract: The main purpose of the following article is to make an outline of the advantages of using an electronic portfolio in the educational sphere and to give practical information on what steps and stages to follow when we introduce it in our work as teachers. What is more, we have to bear in mind that the goals we try to accomplish are the crucial factors when we make decisions what type of electronic portfolio to use, how to organise the information in it and how to utilise the opportunities it offers as an assessment tool.
