Summary/Abstract: The article deals with issues from the sphere of research on the history of Polish parliamentarism in the interwar period and the position of the Legislative Sejm in the historiography of Polish parliamentarism. On the one hand, they are a part of broader research on the history of historiography in the 20th century, and on the other – on the history of law and system, as well as socio-political history and the political thought of the Second Republic of Poland. Such approach to research problems allows not only to review the main historiographic strategies represented by researchers of Polish parliamentarism over the last few decades, but also to raise numerous research questions related to the position and significance of the research into the history of the Legislative Sejm in Polish historiography in the interwar period, in the People’s Republic of Poland and nowadays. The article presents a dozen or so main historians, law historians and constitutionalists dealing with the history of the Legislative Sejm, its political, social and systemic functions, as well as the significance and position in the history of Polish parliamentarism, i.a. Stanisław Starzyński, Wacław Komarnicki, Maciej Starzewski, Władysław Konopczyński, Stanisław Kutrzeba, Tadeusz Rzepecki, Andrzej Ajnenkiel, Michał Pietrzak, Konstanty Grzybowski, Bogusław Leśnodorski.
