Summary/Abstract: The Lancaster House Treaties, signed by French President Nicolas Sarkozy and British Prime Minister David Cameron on November 2010, defined the principles and the pragmatic proposals of enhanced defence and security cooperation between two historical partners. The Treaty for Defence and Security Cooperation is an ambitious plan of concrete actions, as is the creation a Combined Joint Expeditionary Force or the development of mutual equipment and defence capabilities. Another treaty relating to Joint Radiographic/Hydrodynamics Facilities established the basis for future nuclear cooperation. After more than two years, and in anticipation of the next UK-France summit in autumn 2013, the author looks at the progress made (or not) since then.
