Derogations from the Ritual. Incomplete Structures in Conversional Storytelling

Summary/Abstract: In this article are analyzed the recorded spontaneous stories from everyday communication. Based on the findings of narrative forms, colloquial communication, and the using of inspiration from textology and linguistic genology, the author points out the causes of stories that do not follow the full structural scheme. These structures are situation‑related and characterized by a change of the quantity or subsequence of the composition elements typical of a given genre. The very structural changes appear as a result of the impact of the element of colloquial speech, a wide variety of reconstructed events, as well as under the influence of a particular communicative situation in which the story develops.
