Summary/Abstract: On an example of naming one specific locality (minor settlement and the hill Bramberk/Krásný in the cadastre of the town Lučany nad Nisou in Northern Bohemia),the paper deals with quantitative and qualitative changes that took place in the toponymyof former Sudeten during the 20th century. A special attention is paid to officialinterventions in the toponymy within post-war revision of place names as well aswithin later processes of standardization. The paper also analyses relations betweenthe official and folk toponymy, and spatial fixation of toponyms. Last but not least,conditions of conservation of German place names in the contemporary Czech toponymyare discussed.
