Summary/Abstract: The overall scientific work of the great Bulgarian medievalist and byzantinist Ivan Bozhilov is a lasting and significant contribution to the real scientific study of the history of medieval Bulgaria. Through the accumulated new information system and the original views on various issues, it sets the foundations of a new and conceptually upgraded approach. His work is a rich heritage for the present and future generations of researchers.
