OBRAZOVANJE KAO RAZVOJNA SUPSTANCIJA (DRUŠTVENE PROMJENE I ULOGA ZNANOSTI)
EDUCATION AS A SUBSTANCE OF DEVELOPMENT

Summary/Abstract: The results of research concerning the active working populatiorrs level of education are, according to the author, in many ways significant for the assessment of Oroatla's development prospects. In the course of investigating the causes and consequences affecting the current level of education of the working population, other indicators influencing the basic prerequisites of the social, economic and cultural development of Croatia have also emerged. The research unequivocally establishes that the knowledge and ability of the working population is recognized as a substance of development, which makes the systematic scientific and long-term influence on changes in the national school-system even more significant. Referring to many research projects as well as to altitudes of relevant international organizations, this research demonstrates a high correlation between the working population's level of education and the increase of the national producttogether with other aspects of development.
