Summary/Abstract: The editorial board of Folia Sociologica apologize to Prof. Katarzyna Olbrycht for the violation of her copyright in the article by Agnieszka Sarnowicz-Kostrzewa entitled "The social role of the scholar" - about masters, mentors, authorities in biographical interviews with retired academics of the University of Lodz, which consisted of unauthorized, without observing the rules of scientific ethics and the rule of quotation, use of excerpts from her text "Contemporary questions around master-student relations" published in Gazeta Uniwersytecka Uniwersytetu Śląskiego No. 2 (58) of November 1998.
