Summary/Abstract: The limitations of appearance in the media on Fr. Adam Boniecki MIC was imposed twice, in 2011 and 2017, which caused crisis situations (media conflicts) at the interface between the Church–public sphere in Poland. The aim of this study was to determine the communication mechanisms and discursive strategies employed at that time. In the analysis, the sociolinguistic conceptual apparatus combining Public Relations and Critical Discourse Analysis was applied. The processoriented case study showed that mainly one-way asymmetric communication was adapted, which was manifested, i.a., in using scandalization mechanisms. Moreover, in the stylistic figures applied, meaning shifts were made, as a result of which the reasons and bases of the decisions made were not clearly communicated, which adversely affected the relations. The analysis also showed the symptoms of the hegemonisation of religious discourse by the political.
