Summary/Abstract: The paper presents the results from a study on the annual rose celebrations held in the towns of Kazanlak and Karlovo. The study focuses on the stories about the towns of Karlovo and Kazanlak told by the media and the museums of the rose, as well as on the way the beauty contest and music are used in the stories on a local holiday that the whole nation prides itself on.
