RESTRUCTURATION OF BUSINESS ENTERPRISES (COMPANIES) AND ITS ROLE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF CROATIAN ECONOMY

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the problem of restructuration of ownership in Croatia. With regard to minimizing the transaction costs of the whole process, it seems that neither of the radical concepts of economic restructuration (centralized as well as decentralized) is economically or socially suitable for Croatia today. Furthermore, considering the fact that we cannot use the German model of restructuration either, it follows that the economically most acceptable approach in Croatia is a more moderate approach to economic restructuration, which could, due to its major characteristics, be called the organic (or current) mode of transformation of public sector business enterprises.
