Summary/Abstract: The 1050 anniversary of the baptism of Mieszko I attributable in 2016, generated a multiform process of historical reflection on this issue. Re- searchers rendered a complementary analysis of sources relating to the beginnings of Christianity on Polish soil. They systematized existing histo- riography of this issue, pointed out the religious and cultural consequences of the baptism of Poland, and interpreted this memorable act of Mieszko I as a special keystone of the Polish nation and the process of conscious and spiritual rebirth of Poles
