Summary/Abstract: Students need to have certain competences for listening, speaking, reading and writing from an early age. Writing is also an effective way for individuals to express themselves and communicate. Determining the attitudes of teachers about their writing habits is of great importance in order to bring the students' writing habits to the desired level. For this purpose, the writing habits of Turkish teacher candidates were examined in terms of various variables. The screening model was used in the study. The writing habit scale was applied to 339 students. SPSS, frequency and statistical methods were used in the analysis. Pre-service teachers generally had high writing habits, and grade 4 students in 1st, 2nd, 3rd. It was determined that the writing habits of the prospective teachers who had a low number of siblings were higher than the applicants with higher number of siblings, and the number of books with high number of students was higher than the number of books. Various activities should be organized in universities to bring prospective teachers to a sufficient level in writing.
