Summary/Abstract: Telework, alson known as “work from the distance”, was regulated for the first time in Romania through Law no. 81/2018 on the regulation of teleworking activities. Based on the applicable legal framework, the article analyzes the concept of telework, the legal regime of telework, the working conditions (with respect to health and safety, data protection, access to training, organization of work, collective rights etc.), as well as the parties’ legal liability. The article also contains a presentation of the EU legal framework, as well as a comparative law exposition. The article ends with lege ferenda proposals in order to improve the legal framework.
