Summary/Abstract: This article aims to critically examine Rebecca Walker’s autobiography Black, White and Jewish with the purpose of investigating what it means to be part of a broken family and at the same time to be black, white and Jewish. How does it feel for the individual to live in a challenging world, while constantly fighting against the hostile forces of racism, rejection and hatred because of one’s color, race or sexual preference? How does it also feel to grow up in the shadow of a mother who is globally hailed as one of the most successful literary voices of the 20th century?
