INVESTIGATION OF LIFE SCIENCE TEXT BOOK (CLASS 1) ON BASIC SKILLS IN LIFE SCIENCE

Summary/Abstract: Life Science course curriculum is important in terms of preparing students who will be citizens of the future from the early ages for social life. In this study, descriptive method has been used and document analysis has been carried out to determine the basic life skills which are included in the 2018 curriculum of the Ministry of National Education in 2018 -2019 education period in the first class life science textbook which is suitable as a textbook by the Ministry of Education. It has been investigated to what extent the students support the development of skills. In the textbook, it is seen that twenty skills (87%) are related to the subjects in the life unit of our school. The subjects and activities to be included in the textbooks should be prepared in a way to contribute to the development of basic life skills of children.
