Summary/Abstract: Tettoia (trtoja) is a specific farm object made from four wooden poles on which rests a vertically mobile, most often pyramidal roof, covered with rye straw. It is used for storing hay and straw. Sporadically it can be found also in other parts of South Slavic regions, and presumably its origins are very ancient. This object is common throughout Western and Central Europe and as far as Carpathian mountains and Baltic regions of former Soviet Union, where it is known as brog, oborih, oborog, brožina, obara, etc.
