Summary/Abstract: Serbian language and literature curricula appointed by the teaching plans and programs that are approved by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia are significantly loaded with ideological, political, racial, religious, national and other prejudices. The focus of this research paper is on the textbooks designated for grades five to eight in primary school and grades one to four in grammar and vocational middle schools. The subject of Serbian language and literature is taught on all levels and specific fields in primary and secondary schools in the Republic of Serbia, it is even a compulsory subject for national minority communities with two classes per week. Even though announcements of pompous reforms of the education system were made in the past, there have not been any constructive changes of certain discriminatory contents in these books, thus the present textbooks for this subject are still not acceptable for students of minority communities in the Republic of Serbia.
