Summary/Abstract: Growing up, physical and emotional maturing represent one of the most essential motifs of the literature for children. When we speak about children we do speak about girls and boys in general, but their growing up and upbringing go to different directions. Due to that fact we can speak about gender stereotypes in literature about children and for children. Literature, doubtless, contributes to child's perception of its self but it also contributes to the perception of social relations. That is the main reason why gender stereotypes are very important aspect for litereture and sociology as well.
