Summary/Abstract: This paper is about the onomastic pervasion on the Balkan Peninsula from the arrival of the Slavs to the present day. Toponyms and anthroponyms fi-om the different areas of the Balkans are enlisted, and they are inherited or made under the influence of the Illyrians, Celts, Greeks, Turks, or originate from the Latin, Greek, Albanian, Turkish language. Onomastic material showed mixing of the Slavs with the other people and cultures in the area they inhabited, the influence of those people on the Slavs, but the examples of the linguistic influence of the Slavs on the indigenous people of the Balkans were also given.
