Summary/Abstract: The oldest evidence of Jewish presence in Wrocław goes back as early as 1203. Jewish life flourished there until it was brutally destroyed by the Holocaust. After the war Polish Jews attempted to revive it, in vain. Both post-war emigration and the infamous expulsion of March 1968 reduced their numbers. After 1989 the Jewish community is back where it belongs. In Wrocław, you can hear Jewish prayers again.
