Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes memoirs by Nićifor Ninković having in mind theories of Mikhail Bakhtin. By that, the attention is given to the elements of carnival and polyphony that can be found in the title Story of my life. Aim of this work is to stress the elements of humor, as well as the motif of subversion of the character in order to show that this author was ahead of his time.
