Summary/Abstract: In this article, Zhang Linchu and Zhuang Yixiang analyzes the present status of the Sino-EU relations and their future perspectives. While the first contacts go back to the 1980s, the end of the Cold War led to the consolidation of the economic and security partnerships. Although there are many unsettled issues between the two actors, especially from a political point of view, there are strong reasons for strengthening the ties between them. The recent developments proved that cooperation is beneficial for both China and EU.
