Summary/Abstract: The armed forces of Algeria, Morocco, Mauritania and Tunisia are relatively poorly described in Polish scientific literature. In each of these four countries, the state and capabilities of military potential development are different, all of them finally experienced the Arab Spring in various ways. In addition, these countries have been a growing arms market in the last few years and have made significant quality changes in their armed forces. In particular, Algeria and Morocco care for the development of their own defense industry. The description of the state of the armed forces of these countries and international military cooperation is interesting because it shows the differences in the approach to the development of military potential by states from the same region facing similar threats.
