Summary/Abstract: The article contains an interpretation and analysis of the novel Sponge. A story from editorial memories of Marian Gawalewicz. This work is an example of the author’s concern for the education of journalists and press readers. The interpretation of the textis placed in the context of the development of the mass press in the nineteenth century and the ethical aspects of the work of journalists.
