SOME ASPECTS OF THE MALADJUSTMENT OF CONTEMPORARY ADOLESCENTS TO SCHOOLING TASKS

Summary/Abstract: This paper focuses on the challenges contemporary adolescents face with in schooling trajectory. For the last decades, several undesirable phenomena such as decrease in school motivation among students, academic underachievement, school failure, and early school dropout have been observed in many countries. A wide range of factors accounts for these phenomena. Knowing and understanding the complexity of academic underachievement, school failure, and school dropout is one of the most important strategic tasks for professionals working in education.
