Summary/Abstract: Purpose – To determine the level of the selected human capital management indicators in dairy cooperatives. Design/methodology/approach – The 80 of dairy cooperatives was selected. The selection criterion assumes the volume of milk buying. The sample should be considered as quasi-representative because of the participation in market and the purchase of milk. The cooperatives were divided of the group by the size of the assets, and the human resource management indicators were calculated. Human resource productivity indicators, added value of human capital, average earnings per employee, and share of salaries in total revenue were calculated. The research period is 2013–2015 years. Findings – Increased labour costs per employee, with an increase in the total assets of the dairy cooperative. This can result from the use of modern technology and modern machinery, which is more expensive in operation and requires expertise. The local nature of the activities of smaller cooperatives does not mean that they are detached from the modern economic realities. Functioning in today’s competitive market economy, the need for continuous improvement of technology, the introduction of new high-quality products, which ultimately leads to the need for continuous training of human resources At every level of the organisational structure. Originality/value – work is a novum in the study of human capital in dairy cooperatives.
