Summary/Abstract: Purpose - The purpose of the study is to analyze the effective project management and its risk in the context of achieving the assumed results. Methodology - In the presented research, the following methods were used: literature studies, description, explanation, comparative. Findings – Studies indicate that effective project management and its risk is the result of the use of standards, methods and techniques available in this field. They facilitate planning and implementation of often complex projects occurring in various complex environments. Prevention of threats is important in order to achieve the goals of project and investor (scope, cost, time, quality, prestige). Their recognition and analysis of the scale of potential losses, allows to set acceptable limits for the project owner and stakeholders, to make the right decisions and choose the right strategies. Originality/value – The importance of actions to minimize the risk effects and the need for the organization to develop procedures to effectively manage the project and its risks to ensure the required efficiency are indicated. Undertaking such activities already at the planning stage facilitates subsequent control of the implementation of the project's objectives and its profitability. For this purpose, a registry and a risk matrix can be used. For the investor, valuable information is to show the monetary value of the risk. The calculation of the hazard ratio and the total cost of investment risk facilitates making the right decisions.
