Summary/Abstract: Since ancient times, music has been put into the service of humanity's education, due to its power to excite and shape the human soul. The ancients' belief was that music exerts a certain action on the soul, the soul stimulates the nervous system, and it influences and normalizes the pulsations of the heart and, through them, the entire physiological state of the body; the body being purified, makes the soul fit for spiritual activity. As a conclusion, it is imperative to revalorise the atitude of all Orthodox Christians to church music, which must be regarded as an essential form of religious manifestation. The songs of our holy service are the center of our church spirituality. That is why religious services must be made as worthy as possible, as accurate as possible, and be as appealing to the faithful of our day.
