Summary/Abstract: The article presents data about the impact of the school environment on the anxiety of 8th and 9th grade pupils who study in secondary and vocational schools. The data shows that anxiety symptoms, provoked by the school environment, occurs most clearly in the form of reactions of nervousness and tension. The girls have anxiety symptoms in the form of stomach upset, sleeping difficulties, fatigue, breathing problems, palms sweating, nightmares, expectation of negative assessment by others. The empirical data proves that for teachers from secondary and vocational schools is necessary to stay informed about the harmful effects of anxiety symptoms on pupils` physical and mental wellbeing.
