Summary/Abstract: The article investigates the establishment of a bookshop in Veles by Hristo Danov, as part of the Plovdiv Bookshops, with the aid of the “Charity Brotherhood Illumination” of Constantinople and others. Danov's Bookshop in Veles becomes center of the Bulgarian literary life in Prilep, Ohrid, Scopije, Shtip, Salonica and others. It plays important part as well in the struggles of the Bulgarians against the Serbian propaganda in the region.
