In the introduction to his well-known book on the concept of the nation, Benedict Anderson shows very clearly the strong influence of newspapers on our vision of the world. The date printed on the front page of a newspaper is the only thing we need in order to link together the various events described in its pages for a specific day. But it is sad to see how, when the here-and-now becomes history, the link represented by a date becomes more and more blurred and memory becomes more and more selective."[...]
