Financial effectiveness of leading innovative enterprises

Summary/Abstract: It the common perception, there is a positive impact of innovation on the growth of enterprises’ competitiveness. In this context the development of financial performance of leading Polish innovative enterprises, on the background of their competitors, appears to be an interesting research area. The aim of this article is to assess the financial effectiveness of ten selected innovative enterprises, both on the background of the industries in which they operate, and the companies in general. The choice of the group of analysed enterprises was determined by the significant scale of their investments in research and development, as well as implementation of innovation. The evaluation was carried out by comparing the innovative enterprises’ revenue dynamics and profitability indicators with industry values. The estimation of adjusted economic value added, generated by innovative enterprises, in relation to market comparative variables was also executed. The study’s conclusions can contribute to the discussion of possible economy transformations related to innovation investments.
