Summary/Abstract: Part of the national economy is a legally defined means of payment – a national money. That money is used on express rates, make payments, budget forms etc. But since no state cannot function in isolation from other economies, that means that each state has certain international economic transactions. To perform these transactions is necessary to find a way through which they would be performed, so it is necessary the existence of the international monetary system. Exchange rate as macroeconomic indicator is a link through which is established the relationship between the price level in the country and abroad. There are several types of exchange rate regimes and in this paper will be mentioned several categories. What king of regime will be chosen by national economy depends on a number of factors.
