Summary/Abstract: The present study aims to remove the personality of a priest and archpriest from Transylvania in the middle of the eighteenth century, today forgotten, Nicolae Pop from Balomiru de Câmp (Alba County), a cleric who, like his great contemporary, the hierarch Ioan Inochentie Micu, has fully identified himself with the ideals of his nation. Through his entire activity and dedication, he managed to create a real bridge between the two slopes of the Carpathians, pasturing, with equal love and sacrifice, both the Transylvanian Church, for which he was, for several years, Vicarius, as well as the monks of the well-known monastery from Curtea de Argeş.
