Summary/Abstract: The topic of this paper is the Mimetic Theory of Culture of Rene Girard, the prominent French anthropologist, essayist, and scientist. The matter of mimetic mechanism in culture is here taken as the sub-topic. The author scrutinizes it in detail, especially in terms of anthropological meanings. Girard reads Christianity as anthropology. His approach is strictly methodological-anthropological; Christianity is critically conceived as a critical theory of culture sui generis.
