God in and between the Lines of Milan Rúfus

Summary/Abstract: In this article the author deals with the occurrence of theological motives in the works of Milan Rufus. His poetry, essays, and authorized interviews touch the question of God as an inherent part in people’s lives. This narration about God is a humble bow in front of mystery, and therefore it remains on the level of questions rather than answers. His whole artistic expression balances on the border of silence. He is aware of the responsibility for a written piece of work, for an uttered word, and that is why he looks very strictly at „what“ and „how“ to say or not to say. Because of this attitude he says much in a limited space.
