Summary/Abstract: Internet as a contemporary and universal medium plays the role of crowded and full of life space, tempting by its mystery. This place compared by John Paul II to a ‘roman forum’ shows both the best and the worst features of human nature. As the Pope highlighted it hides in itself not only the promise of adventure but also dangers. The aim of the paper is to show how influence of the Internet on young people who were growing up in the times when the technology was developing. Cyberspace is for them an open window to the world, gives possibilities of discovering, getting to know, taking part in and experiencing in the sphere of interpersonal relationships, world views and the sphere of values. Unfortunately being in the cyberspace by young people from all over the world is still a privilege not a right. There is a real threat that the existing inequalities of poor countries and the gap in the sphere of communication and information will be getting deeper.
