Summary/Abstract: Critic Lilla Turbuly considers that the title chosen by creators for performances of Chekhov’s first, untitled play is symptomatic: it could be the more neutral Platonov or it could be Fatherless. For the Oradea performance director Bálint Botos has chosen Fatherless, emphasizing generational and parent-child relationships. The reviewer thinks that the performance sensitively traces the contours ofthe experience of a decomposing, transitional world, but the acting is in a more comic and ironic key.
